Carmen Dupree Hightower
Post Closing Paralegal
Hello! My name is Carmen Dupree Hightower
I am a paralegal at Lancaster Law Firm. I obtained a Master’s Degree in December 2017 in, international and comparative law with a concentration in resource and economic law, from the University of Eastern Finland. During my time in Finland, my thesis, “legal and Financial Instruments that Support Renewable Installations on Public Buildings” was published in the UEF Law Library. I obtained a Bachelor’s degree in political science from UNCA in 2014. During my time as an undergrad, Non-profit work and volunteer work here in Asheville was a priority to me, from interning with United Way Children First program, to volunteering at EMMA Elementary School. Involvement in international law and policy has also been a huge part of my life. I’ve attended multiple international conferences including the 2016 UN conference on the Environment and sustainability in Shanghai, to student conferences on Globalization and the HIV AIDS Pandemic in South Africa and Lesotho. I’ve always appreciated the phrase, “Think Globally act locally” but the way that I’ve always approached it is, when you think locally, act locally and when you think globally, act globally.
